Matteo Carcassi: 25 Melodic & Progressive Studies, Op. 60

Matteo Carcassi's 25 Melodic & Progressive Studies, Op. 60 are bread and butter for students of classical and fingerstyle guitar. First published sometime prior to 1852, they are a set of pieces for solo guitar that aim to aid the player in developing and honing their technique.

This edition is a sort of modern reproduction of an early edition by Schott. It imitates its measure, system, and page layouts that I find so appealing compared to many other modern editions. I sought to reproduce Carcassi's apparent compositional intent as precisely as possible, barring access to his handwritten manuscript, with the addition of more complete fingerings. As I assign these studies to my students quite often, I wanted to have a clean, clear, and detailed version for them to work from.

The book is broken in two parts. The first part presents the studies in standard notation only, and the second includes tablature.
